Forgiveness.
[Hello, fellow Vatheonites. Jacob hasn't spoken to you in a while. He gazes at the camera with pensive eyes, pausing before continuing to speak.]
Forgiveness is a rather complicated subject. Everyone knows what forgiveness is, but when it comes to actually thinking about how to use it in a situation, there are no clear rules about it. When do you forgive somebody? Do you forgive them when they prove they are not the person they are? Do you forgive them because you love them and want to keep the relationship intact as before?
How many times can you forgive a person if they do the same wrongful deed over and over again? Can you forgive a person who hurt you? Hurt your loved ones? Destroyed all the things you enjoyed?
I think it's different for every person. It is your choice on whether you forgive or you don't. Though I would rather forgive than not- if you let the memory of the deed fester in your heart for a long time, it transforms into a grudge, and you can be driven to do acts of vengeance and violence in that state of mind.
Some people believe that everyone deserves a chance. But what do you think? Do you pardon the murderer, save the sinner, let the prodigal son back into your life again?
What is forgiveness to you?

[A pause before he gives a sad sort of smile.]
Johnny, I want you to know that I will never blame you for what happened. It's alright. Don't be hard on yourself.
[A nod, and he shuts off the SFC.]
[ooc: Don't forget to fill out Jacob's permission post if you haven't done so already!]

It's not bad, to act on what you believe in. It's what you do with your beliefs that determines what judgement others have towards you.

But here, let me give you an example. There was a man who I knew of who did many terrible things in life. He killed people. He manipulated them. He did everything he could in order to gain power.
But the man had a daughter he loved dearly. And in a moment of weakness, he accidentally let her in harm's way, and she was killed by a leader of a group who didn't even care that he was killing a completely innocent person. He killed the man's daughter in order to get him to surrender.
And the man, the one had betrayed and manipulated people...he cried and vowed that he would do whatever it took to take revenge on his daughter's death.
Who is right? Did the daughter deserve to die? Did the first man deserve to suffer in that way? Was the leader who killed the girl in the wrong? It's a complicated question. Murder is never an easy thing to figure out. People don't murder because they can. There is always some reason behind it.

[Oh god Jacob, he'd love to talk philosophy with you and all. But that would involve him actually having an understanding of philosophy. Which he does not. He barely could keep up with the hypothetical situation, let alone think on it!]
Sorry, I don't all...

That's alright...it's hard to think about. All the complexities...

I don't really up and like thinkin' about all that kinda shit. Makes my pan feel like illing, you get?

It's alright, some people can't exactly grasp it. It's not everyday when you have to think about stuff like that.
